We have inland wetlands that are an integral part of the big picture. Wetlands capture rain water and hold it during floods, then allow the water to filtrate back into the ground. Wetlands are a filtering system, filtering out silt and pollutants from our waters, thus providing us with cleaner waters for human and wildlife use. Wetlands are habitats for many wildlife species, they rely on wetlands to raise their young. Wetlands provide food. The balance that lays in the seasonal changes of the wetlands is varying upon what the outside world does to them. They are protected, yet still rely on us to help. We offer plant material appropriate for many types of wetlands in our area. Rivers, streams, ponds, bogs, vernal pools and floodplains are all part of our wetland system.
